Vincent Essien, a pupil of The Fountain School, Surulere – Lagos who won Second Place (Juniour Category) in the Rising Star Writing Competition was presented with prizes and gifts on Wednesday May 25, 2016 by the organizers of the competition, The Writers Corner, led by their CEO/Project Coordinator of Rising Star Writing Competition, Uche Udoji. The event took place in his class – in the presence of the Head Teacher, Revd. Adekunle Olaitan, Mrs. Helen Essien (Vincent’s mother), his teachers and classmates.

Mrs. Udoji, while presenting the award, congratulated the winner and the school and urged the pupils to be hard working and take their studies seriously. Master Essien received a Certificate, HP laptop, Bluegate UPS and books. The Head Teacher also received some books from The Writers Corner on behalf of The Fountain School.

Fountain School, Lagos is the fifth in the prize-presentation series embarked upon by the organizers of the competition to deliver the prizes directly to the winners in their various schools. The schools whose students have received the prizes won are Corona School, Ikoyi, Lagos; Starville College, Abuja; St. Saviours School, Ikoyi, Lagos and Valuespring College, Okota, Lagos.
