Favour 1Miss Favour Lawrence, a pupil of Seed of Knowledge School, Okota-Lagos, was on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 presented with her Certificate of Award and prizes as Honourable Mention winner at the maiden edition of Rising Star Writing Competition. The award and prizes were presented to her by the Project Director of the competition, Mr. Ike Ezugwu, Managing Director/CEO of Vuvuzela Communications Limited, Lagos during her school’s Morning Assembly.  Miss Lawrence received a Certificate of Award, a Bluegate UPS and books. The organizers of the competition also presented books to the school.

favour 5Present to celebrate with her were: her mum, Mrs. Lawrence, the Proprietress of Seed of Knowledge School, Mrs. Ifeoma Ojiakor, pupils and teachers of the school. During the presentation ceremony, Mr. Ezugwu congratulated Miss Lawrence and urged her to work harder and do more exploits in her academics. He also used the opportunity to encourage other pupils to be serious with their studies. Mrs. Ojiakor thanked The Writers Corner for coming up with the writing competition and promised to partner with the organization in future projects.

The maiden edition of The Rising Star Writing Competition was flagged off on December 3, 2015 in Lagos. The award is an annual event organized by The Writers Corner in collaboration with Vuvuzela Communications Limited to help develop children’s creative thinking and writing skills while rewarding the winning entries with various prizes. The entries, which were in two categories (Primary and Secondary) were either a poem or a short story exploring the theme “Our Troubled Planet” with 200 and 500 word -limit for a poem and short story respectively. The competition was sponsored by Greenlife Pharmaceuticals with support from Tripplesea Group, the owners/marketers of Bluegate Electronics in Nigeria. The books were donated by Chelis Bookazine.
