It was great fun and celebration yesterday, May 10, at Corona School, Ikoyi – Lagos as Rising Star Writing Awards were presented to pupils of the school who won prizes in the competition. Parents of the award-winning-kids, their fellow students, teachers and staff of the school rejoiced with the children in a very special way.

Charlotte Okulaja went home with the star prize in the junior category, comprising a Certificate, HP laptop, Bluegate TV, Bluegate UPS and book. Folashayo Olaniyan and Masturat Layonu who won Honourable Mentions at the competition took home a Certificate, Bluegate UPS and books.

The Rising Star Competition team was led by Uche Udoji, CEO The Writers Corner and Project Coordinator of the competition. To help present the awards to the students were Mrs. Uche Nwauka, Assistant General Manger, Bank of Industry; Mrs. Amauche Chidozie, Director Tripplesea Group and Mr. Derrick Osondu, Marketing Manager, Greenlife Pharmaceuticals, the main sponsors of the competition. Mrs. Amelia Obianife Dafeta, the Head of School of Corona School, Ikoyi  (host) also helped with the presentation. Ike Ezugwu, the Project Director was the “master of ceremony”.
